Three arrested in connection with Passaic shooting
Passaic County authorities reported that, based on an investigation by the Passaic Police Department, Farad Anthony, 31, Sahad Burgos, 31, and Carinell Pellot-Nieves of Passaic and 24, of Prospect By were arrested in connection with an investigation into a shooting that took place on May 4, 2022 in the Market Street and Morris Street area of Passaic.
Farad Anthony and Sahad Burgos are each charged with two counts of attempted first degree murder; robbery, first degree; Illegal possession of a weapon, first degree; aggravated assault, second degree; burglary, second degree; Some people should not have weapons, second degree; Possession of a weapon for illicit purposes, second degree; and Criminal restraint, third degree. Carinell Pellot-Nieves is charged with conspiracy to commit robbery, second degree, and conspiracy to commit burglary, second degree.
On May 4, 2022, at approximately 7:56 a.m., members of the Passaic Police Department responded to the Market Street and Morris Street area of Passaic to a report of an injured victim.
Upon arrival, officers located a witness who indicated the victim had left the scene. Shortly after, members of the Passaic Police Department were notified that a 28-year-old male, a resident of Passaic, had arrived at Saint Joseph University Medical Center in Paterson, apparently being treated for non-life-threatening injuries. .
Farad Anthony and Sahad Burgos were identified as actors who assaulted the victim during a home invasion and fired a handgun in the direction of the victim, but the victim was not hit.
Carinell Pellot-Neives has been identified as an accomplice in the incident.
On May 12, 2022, at approximately 6:00 p.m., members of the Passaic Police Department arrested Farad Anthony and Carinell Pellot-Nieves at Newark Liberty International Airport.
On May 12, 2022, at approximately 6:19 p.m., members of the Passaic Police Department arrested Sahad Burgos in the Passaic Street and Columbia Avenue area of Passaic.
