the power ball Monday’s lottery draw jackpot soared to around $27 million, with a cash option worth $16.1 million.
The winning numbers were: 18, 27, 33, 39 and 44. The Powerball drawn was 8 with a Power Play of 5X.
While no one across the country hit the $20 million jackpot on Saturday, a second prize, a $1 million ticket, was sold at Krauszer’s on McLean Boulevard in Paterson. A second million dollar bill was purchased in Pennsylvania. Both matched five numbers but not Powerball.
Additionally, a pair of third prize tickets were sold in New Jersey. A $150,000 ticket was purchased at the Vince Lombardi Service Area on the New Jersey Turnpike in Ridgefield while a $50,000 ticket was sold at Jim’s Town Deli on Lakehurst Road in the Browns Mills section of Pemberton. A ticket is worth more because the winner spent $1 more on the Power Play option.
Saturday’s winning numbers were: 14, 21, 37, 44 and 63. The Powerball drawn was 1 with a Power Play of 3X.
Also, no one touched the $10 million secondary draw that followed the main draw on Saturday. The winning numbers were 11, 30, 48, 56 and 69. The Double Play Power Ball drawn was 20.
The odds of hitting the Powerball jackpot are 292,201,388 to 1. A player who buys a $2 ticket has approximately a 1 in 11,688,053 chance of matching five numbers and winning at least $1 million, while that the odds are 913,129 to 1 of winning the third prize of at least $50,000.
Powerball is played Monday, Wednesday and Saturday in 45 states, as well as Washington DC, the US Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.
New Jersey Lottery Lawrence’s offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. should players prefer to file claims and validate winning tickets in person. If the player wins a prize of $25,000 or more (or feels more comfortable submitting claims in person), appointments can still be made to meet with lottery representatives in person by calling 1-800-222-0996.
