No one across the country hit Friday’s $ 45 million jackpot. There was also no second prize, 1 million tickets sold.
Nine tickets bought in the Garden State for Friday’s drawing corresponded to four numbers, New Jersey Lottery officials said. One was purchased with the Megaplier option and is worth $ 1,500. The others are valued at $ 500 each.
Friday’s winning numbers were: 4, 30, 34, 41 and 64. The Mega Ball shot was 8 with a mega-folder of 3X.
The jackpot was last won on May 22 when a $ 516 million note was sold at a 7-Eleven on Trenton Road in Levittown, Pa., lottery officials said. It is the ninth largest Mega Millions prize in gaming history and the 18th largest prize won in the United States.
Mega Millions tickets cost $ 2 each and in New Jersey must be purchased by 10:45 p.m. on the night of the draw. The odds of a ticket winning the jackpot by matching five numbers and the Mega Ball are 302,575,350 to 1. Players have a spin of 1 in 12,607,306 to win the second prize of at least $ 1 million. by matching five numbers.
The game is played in 45 states, Washington, DC, and the US Virgin Islands.
The New Jersey Lottery office in Lawrence is open by appointment only. You can still claim your winnings – provided they’re less than $ 599.50 – in person at any retailer.
The lottery also accepts complaints sent by mail, although officials warn that payments could be temporarily delayed. Winners are requested to make copies of the claim form and winning ticket for their records.
