Join the Race for Aaron
VINELAND — The annual run for Aaron 5K and 1-mile walk will take place at 9 a.m. on April 2, starting at St. Padre Pio Parish at 4680 Dante Ave.
The event features prizes for the top three winners overall and the top three winners by age group, male and female; entertainment provided by BME; and colorful T-shirts for participants who pre-register.
Walkers are welcome, must be registered and stand behind 5K runners at 9 a.m.
Dogs are welcome to walk their owners in the 1 mile event.
Good Day for a Run, www.gooddayforarun.com, will provide timing.

Registration fees are $20 for the 5 km and $15 for the walk until 10 p.m. on March 31.
Proceeds will go to the Aaron Ploch Memorial Scholarship Fund and Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Cumberland and Salem Counties. Scholarships are awarded each year to graduating students in the region.

YMCA programs offer healthy cooking tips, tricks and samples
VINELAND — The “Meal Prepping Made Easy” series at YMCA Cumberland Cape Atlantic offers programs from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. April 9 and 23. Community members are invited to attend.
Topics are “Guilt Free Desserts” on April 9 and “One Pot or Pan Combos,” highlighting entrees that can feed a busy family on April 23.
Registration is ongoing and places are limited.
Fees are $7 for YMCA facility members, $10 for YMCA program members, and $15 for community members. or $5 for YMCA facility or program members attending virtually. Parents can bring a child between 5 and 12 years old at no additional cost.

Learn about the AJ Meerwald and New Jersey oyster industry
VINELAND – The Vineland Historical and Antiquarian Society will host a presentation titled “The AJ Meerwald and New Jersey’s Oyster Industry” at 1:30 p.m. on April 2.
Participants will learn about the region’s oyster industry, which provided delicacies in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
The presentation can be viewed at the museum at 108 S. Seventh St., or via Zoom.
A $5 donation is suggested and registration is required.

Free distribution of Easter dinner planned in Bridgeton; volunteers and donations needed
BRIDGETON – The Bethany Grace Community Church, in partnership with the M25 initiative, will distribute Grab N’ Go Easter Community Dinner Bowls at 1:30 p.m. on April 17, Easter Sunday, in the Fellowship/Outreach Room at 31 N.Pearl St.
Free dinners will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, while supplies last. One dinner bowl per person and people must be present.
