Celebrate Children’s Mental Health Awareness Day in New Jersey
Mental health throughout the pandemic has been a challenge for many of us. The Tri County Care Management Organization and the Family Support Organization invite you to celebrate Children’s Mental Health Awareness Day on May 5th.
The event is organized to help raise awareness of children’s mental health. They will have two guest speakers, Susan Gibbs, MS, LPC and Deb McKernan-Ace, MOT/OTR, COTA. They will talk about their experience and the impact of the pandemic on young people in our counties.
They will also honor Assemblyman Anthony Verrilli for his mental health work with the Assembly-Disability Caucus on the bills below:
NJ A4433: Creates a grant program to encourage school districts to partner with institutions of higher education to train providers of school mental health services.
NJ A4435: Requires DCF to prioritize certain applicants with student mental health counseling centers when awarding contracts to provide school-related services.

The Tri County Care Management Organization provides managed care for young people and their families in Somerset, Warren and Hunterdon counties.
